Where is bim bom bay

I watched 60 Minutes last night and there was an orchestra playing a Mozart piece. I went to bed with it rolling around in my head and left sometime during the night. It happens to me all the time. You reminded me of a favorite quartet when I was growing up, the Ink Spots. Often one of their songs will come to me out of the blue and take its time to leave. My mind is rarely "muscial" unless it's new good catchy song.

It seems that the tunes in my head come from a long time ago. The last song my granddaughter sang in our Facetime. Bing Bong something or other!!! I can sing Messiah by heart, after years doing that one.

I'm sure there are more similar alliterations. Yes Messiah sometimes comes to my head. I haven't heard it for many, many years.

Halfway through this post I had to go search for that song, so now as I'm typing this I'm also listening to Jimmie Rodgers. I've never heard this song before. But what a fun tune!

I get ear worms all the time. Nowadays with the internet, it's easy to track songs down. Jimmie Rodgers was before your time!!! However, I'm glad you liked the tune. I haven't heard that particular song -- I will look it up shortly! But I find that I almost always have a song going through my head. Sometimes I don't even really hear it until I stop and think about it. It just runs in the background like the radio. Ear worms can be annoying at times especially if it's a song you never liked but for some unknown reason, it's in your memory bank.

I like it! That is a catchy tune for sure. Join others and track this song Scrobble, find and rediscover music with a Last. Sign Up to Last. Lyrics Add lyrics on Musixmatch. It was a moderate hit at the time, but soon became fairly obscure. Jimmy Rodgers was quite a popular artist in the late s and early s. He released Bimbombey in November In an unrelated event, I was released in December Since my parents had the record, I assume they bought it right around the time I was born.

The song itself is sort of a silly novelty. The song never states precisely where Bimbombey is, but from the music and general tone of the song, I always assumed that it was on a tropical island somewhere. A place like Hawaii or Tahiti, perhaps. Despite being little remembered these days, Bimbombey was a hit in its time, reaching 11 on the Billboard Hot chart for the week of December 15 th , In , Jimmy Rodgers suffered severe head injuries that forced him to take a year away from performing in order to recover.

Supposedly, the injuries occurred during a traffic stop in Los Angeles, where Rodgers purportedly either fell or was beaten by police.
