I keep the scanner plugged into the computer and when I want to scan I just put the document into the scanner and push the button, It is scanned, the computer screen shows the choices , i indicate the destination and it's done.
My son recommended this product, he just made his office paperless, he loves the lack of clutter paper documents create. This product is so unlike the bed scanners most consumers are used to. Just one comment: The included adobe professional 8 software does seem to have compatibility issues with snow leopard and crashes before the app is open! I need to figure out a way to modify some pages that were inserted into the docs in a horizontal direction due to large and hard to interpret charts! Not a big deal, but it seems odd since Adobe is in Adobe Pro X release!!! Maybe that's the only version available for a low price!
